About Us

At 1 Step Ahead Academy, we provide a structured, academically focused education built around a CAPS-based curriculum. We are a registered independent school with the Department of Education and currently operate across two campuses, providing learning opportunities from the early years through to primary school.

Our teaching is primarily conducted in English, with Afrikaans offered as an additional language. While academics remain at the heart of what we do, we believe that school should also be a place where learners can explore their interests, build confidence and enjoy being part of a school community.

Learners have access to a variety of free and paid extramural activities, along with special events, themed dress-up days and activities throughout the year. We are also proud to have our own school library, giving learners regular access to books and supporting a strong culture of reading. Our Literacy Club provides further opportunities for learners to strengthen their reading, language and comprehension skills.

Technology also forms part of our learning environment. In the Foundation Phase, learners make use of tablets to support classroom activities and develop important digital skills from an early age. At 1 Step Ahead Academy, we aim to provide learners with a balanced school experience where strong academics, literacy, technology and meaningful school activities work together to support their development.
